Basic order: Subject - Verb - Object
Same as English. 我吃饭 = I eat (a meal).
他看书。
Tā kàn shū.
He reads a book.
不 negates
Put 不 (bù) before the verb: 我不吃 = I don't eat. (不 → bú before a 4th tone.)
