要 (yào) before a verb expresses intention or near-future. 我要走 = I'm leaving / I want to go.

I want to drink water.
吧 softens a sentence
吧 (ba) makes a suggestion or assumption gentler: 走吧 = let's go; 你是学生吧？= you're a student, right?
